Women’s Resource and Outreach Centre WROC becomes proud member of the Women for Water Partnership WfWP

The Women’s Resource and Outreach Centre, WROC has recently become a proud member of the Women for Water Partnership, WfWP international network which consists of 21 women’s organizations in South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and West-and Eastern Europe.

WfWP.jpgChairperson Linnette Vassell says WROC is pleased to be a part of the distinguished network, noting that her organization is quite “aware of the importance of access to clean water to the development of sustainable livelihoods in Jamaica, particularly for female heads of households.” WROC’s membership in the WFWP network is expected to enhance and supplement local development work that is already being carried out in several vulnerable communities.

The Women for Water Partnership focuses on sustainable development through integrated water resource management by:

  • Enabling the exchange of knowledge and expertise through its international network
  • Facilitating the development of demand driven projects at local level
  • Advocating full and equal participation of women and their organisations
  • Stimulating women's empowerment and local ownership
  • Promoting equity mainstreaming at all levels
  • Accessing support resources for its members
